I, Cristy, promise from the bottom of my heart to pray for your family during these next couple of weeks. I pray that you will be given the peace that surpasses all understanding as you get through this unfair tragedy. God will not leave you during this time... He will help you... He will be with you. He adores you all. I am so very deeply sorry for your loss. Romans 12:12... As cliche as this sounds... I truly do LOVE you.
To the family of Deputy Haws. Your husband and father was doing important work and his loss saddens all of us more than we can ever adequately express. My oldest son works for the Kings County Sheriff's Department. My youngest son is in the academy and will be an officer with the Lemoore Police Department upon graduation. I spent 22 years with the Kings County Sheriff's Department and 9 with Corcoran PD. Your loss saddens all of us.

Haws Family,
The news of what happened to Deputy Haws left us all silent yesterday. The guys here are still clentching their teeth tight so we won't cry. Although I only knew Deputy Haws for a short while, he was always very kind and patient with me. He was very liked and respected by everyone here. Rest assured that our office will do everything we can to see that justice will be carried out.

My heart goes out to Deputy Haws family, friends and co-workers during this difficult time. I had the pleasure of working with Deputy Haws while I was employed with the Tulare County Sheriff's Department in 1999-2000. We will never understand why things like this happen. This is a time for everyone to pull together and be try to be strong.
I never dreamed it would be me,
My name for all eternity,
Recorded here at this hollowed place,
Alas, my name, no more my face.
"In the line of duty" I hear them say,
My family now the price will pay,
My folded flag stained with their tears,
We only had those few short years.
The badge no longer on my chest,
I sleep now in eternal rest,
My sword I pass to those behind,
And pray to keep this thought in mind.
I never dreamed it would be me,
And with heavy heart and bended knee,
I ask for all here from the past,
Dear God, let my name be the last.
R.I.P Kent Haws

I am so sorry for you loss. I met your husband at the Tulare County Fair soon after I moved here. My friend Tracy and he were on the force together. Tracy only had the best words for your husband. He must have been one of the really good guys.My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
To Francis, their handsome boys, family, and other friends: Please know that my heartfelt sorrow goes out to all of you in this tragic and senseless loss of such a great man and public servant. I have been blessed to know the Haw's family over the past 5 years, spending a few special times with both Kent and Francis. I will never forget how much in awe I was of seeing their unending love for each other and their children. To still be "in-love" after all these years gave inspiration to many, including this author. I will always remember Kent for his great jokes, great smile, and flaming Dr. Peppers, but more then that I will remember the love this family had for each other and their children. Kent, you will be missed.
Hello my name is Mari and I would like to give my condolences to the deputy's family I know that nobody can tell you that we know what you are feeling, because we don't all we can say is that we pray to Jehovah god to give you the strength and courage to live through this. Every body always ask when will cruelty end? well the answer is in your bible in Psalms 37:10-11 their it mentions that only God will resolve all and destroy those that case harm, Revelations (Apocalypse)21:4 And he shall wipe all the tears away and death shall be no more for all this will be things of the past sencirely hope that you and your Loved ones get the strength that only God can give and help you in this difficult time With respect yours truly Mari.
I grew up in Madera California and hearing this just hits to close to home. When I heard about this I was wondering what this world is coming to. I now live in Huntsville, Alabama and today we laid to rest Officer William Eric Freeman. I feel for both families and I know sorry isn't enough. I will keep you in my prayers. I know the danger of this job. I was in the military and my husband was a Military Police Officer. I worried everyday that he went to work.
"MY FIRST CHIRSTMAS IN HEAVEN"
I see the countless Christmas trees around the world below
With tiny lights, like Heaven's stars, reflecting on the snow.
The sight is so spectacular, please wipe away the tear
For I am spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.
I hear the many Christmas songs that people hold so dear
But the sounds of music can't compare with the Christmas
choir up here. I have no words to tell you, the joy their voices bring. For it is beyond description, to hear the angels sing.
I know how much you miss me, I see the pain inside your heart
But I am not so far away, We really aren't apart.
So be happy for me, dear ones, You know I hold you dear.
And be glad I'm spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.
I sent you each a special gift, from my heavenly home above.
I sent you each a memory of my undying love.
After all, love is a gift more precious than pure gold.
It was always most important in the stories Jesus told.
Please love and keep each other, as my Father said to do.
For I can't count the blessing of love he has for each of you.
So have a Merry Christmas and wipe away that tear
Remember, I am spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.

I knew Kent in high school, but have not seen him since we had a class at COS together. I had heard several years ago that he had gone to work for the S/O, & I remember feeling a deep sense of appreciation at the time, & also pride for him that he had chosen such an admirable & respectable line of duty to devote himself to. Although we were never close or knew one another well, it was apparent that he had a very positive perspective on life. He was a very kind and personable guy, never arrogant, but a humble, outgoing person who had a natural gift for uplifting others and making them feel appreciated. It has grieved me deeply that his life was taken in such a senseless & tragic manner, and my heart goes out to his family & loved ones. Please know that you are in my prayers for the peace of God and His healing power to enfold you. Our community is a poorer place without Kent, but only you who were closest to him know the extreme agony of it. May the Lord ease your pain in this your time of sorrow. It is my hope that our entire community will take pause to appreciate the sacrifice that our law enforcement officers make by placing their lives in danger on a daily basis for our safety. Please know that Kent's death has shaken the hearts of many more than you could ever possibly know. Our tears join yours. God bless you in the future as He has blessed you with Kent in your lives.
In Christ's love,
Lorie
Dear Haws family,
My mother called me Monday evening to let me know the news. I am devasted and numb. Although this does not compare to what you are going through. I want you to know that my thoughts and prayers are with each of you. I knew Kent in the late 80's and even though he and I parted ways the one thing was that we remained friends. Francis you were the BEST thing that ever happened to him. You brought him up out of his darkest hours, and now HE will be the one to whisper to you and you will hear it in your heart. I even ran into him when I was home a few years ago. We chatted about what each had been up to, and it was so like Kent to ask about how my family was doing, then we had a couple good laughs at things that happened years ago.He was a beautiful and wonderful man! I for one am so proud to have known him. I am so sorry that this has happened! My heart goes out to all Law Enforcement I pray that each of you will always make it home to your loved ones each and every night after doing your job of protecting us!
Thank you Kent for touching all of our lives you will never be forgotten you will always live in our hearts.
