Underage Drinking

Should adults be held responsible if underage drinking occurs at their home?

Depends...Some parents work all day and go to bed, not knowing what's going-on under their own roof! Others do, however, and look the other way. That's unacceptable.

"Depends" = great answer! Anyone contributing to the delinquency of a minor ought to be held accountable. That would, of course, include the local assistant managers in restaurants & fast food huts who sometimes make available booze and drugs or otherwise share the stuff (off duty, of course) with those who they supervise on the clock. IOW, if we are to step up enforcement, I would hope it would not be a discriminatory enforcement effort based upon disapproval of the social life of only certain groups within our community. And, let's see, what will be the next sin-sin to catch the eye of our local social police? Might we see a crack down on cheating spouses? ;) After all, I'm sure they contribute to the delinquency of minors. No doubt we have many social ills within the community, but can we really afford all the overtime for the social police to perfect our everyday activities? I'd rather the police serve & protect by focusing on home invasions, auto thefts, and crimes that spill blood in our streets and on our sidewalks, or otherwise result in the hospitalization of victims due to serious bodily injuries. I say stop the attention seeking, the overcharging, & the preventive measures; the county cannot afford it!

I do not believe that a parent is too tired to know what is going on in their house, when loud roudy children are underage drinking. Be responsible! Drinking leads to an immeasureable amount of situations that may hurt or even kill innocent people.
